“I had dinner with Envy last night.
We had sushi. She knows all the best Japanese restaurants. Envy has a wit as deliciously tart as her famous Margaritas Casa Verde. Her aesthetics are intuitively impeccable. Those handmade kimonos she designs for celebrity clients are the hottest thing in Fashion.
Envy remembers every birthday and always sends just the right card. She is your mother’s favorite of your girlfriends. Envy is the most “ride or die” chick you want to know.
But Envy can’t see the beauty in Envy, for all of the shine she recognizes in another. You can hear it behind her laugh, the way she tells “how the situation went down.”
I guess I see her for who she is, and I think about the lifetime of experiences that have shaped her insecurities and her resentments. If she's hating on you, you're probably awesome. So, I find compassion for her struggle with being fully aware of her own awesomeness. I like her. Envy is hilarious, wicked smart, generous, thoughtful and I consider her my friend. I'm heading out to her place in the country next weekend for brunch. She has a batch of tulip bulbs from her garden set aside just for me.”
‘Love Garden Party’ (Envy) is a digital print on 150lb paper stock of a drawing that I have hand embellished with inks, acrylic paints and collage, thus creating a unique work of art. The work is framed with conservation quality, high UV-filtering museum glazing. Signed on front of the work by the Artist.
